Too generic error when loading txt file
« on: September 06, 2017, 04:08:28 pm »
I've noticed that the indications in the manual are a bit too general on how to correctly build an influent file. This requires to have more specific errors when loading a text file rather than directing the user to the manual where all issues seems not to be addressed.

For instance there is the same error for loading the file:
- with comma as decimal separator rather than point
- with two rows reporting the same time value

This might be confusing when one has to look for an unknown error in a long txt file.

Suggestion: add to the error message more information e.g. the line in the txt file where the error was detected.

Hello Giacomo,
you're absolutely right: both the error messages may be too generic and the manual (especially for this subject) is far from exhaustive.
We would like to redesign the influent / effluent 'wizard' soon: in that scope, we'll certainly improve the file load functionality.
